Broadway Sacramento Presents: White Christmas

Broadway Sacramento is bringing a beloved holiday classic to life with its sparkling production of White Christmas, the musical that wraps nostalgic charm, irresistible music, and heartfelt storytelling into one dazzling package. Inspired by the 1954 film, this stage version celebrates everything people adore about holiday theatre: big ensemble numbers, timeless songs, and a story that warms even the frostiest December day.

A holiday musical filled with joy

White Christmas follows two song-and-dance partners who team up with a sister act for a winter adventure that turns into something much bigger than they expected. Romance blooms, friendships deepen, and a Vermont inn in need becomes the setting for a story full of generosity and cheer. The musical features the legendary music of Irving Berlin, including “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” and the iconic title number that has become a permanent part of the American holiday soundtrack.

Broadway Sacramento is known for bringing professional productions to the capital region, and White Christmas is no exception. Expect beautiful choreography, crisp harmonies, elegant vintage costumes, and sets that capture the story’s midcentury charm. A perfect way to celebrate the season

Whether you grew up watching the movie or are discovering the story for the first time, White Christmas is pure holiday delight. It’s a cozy, heartwarming musical that pairs perfectly with hot cocoa, twinkling lights, and winter nights spent with family and friends. Broadway Sacramento Expands Year-Round Theatre Programming
In an exciting development, Broadway Sacramento has reached an agreement with the Sacramento Theatre Company (STC) to expand its programming beyond its traditional summer season. This means more shows, more opportunities to enjoy professional musical theatre, and more reasons to celebrate the performing arts in Sacramento.

For nearly 75 years, Broadway Sacramento and STC have shared a campus at 15th and H Streets. While STC has brought wonderful productions to the city for decades, rising costs have made it difficult for them to continue. As a result, Broadway Sacramento will now be the sole operator of the theatre complex, ensuring that live, professional theatre continues to thrive in the community.
“This is a bittersweet moment,” said STC Board President Betsy Wood. “We are proud of our legacy, and while we are sad to make this transition, we fully support Broadway Sacramento’s expansion.”

Broadway Sacramento Board Chair Dr. Jacqueline M. Calkin echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the company’s commitment to maintaining year-round theatre programming. “We take this responsibility seriously and look forward to continuing to bring world-class productions to Sacramento audiences.”
