Lace Up and Get Lucky at Shamrock’n Weekend in Sacramento

If you love running, community spirit, and a healthy dose of St. Patrick’s Day fun, Shamrock’n Weekend is the place to be this March in the Sacramento region. This lively annual event brings together runners of all levels for a festive multi-day running celebration featuring a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and a Kids’ Leprechaun Dash — plus the chance to earn a unique Double Header medal and plenty of post-race cheer. 

Organized by Fleet Feet Sacramento Event Management, Shamrock’n takes over Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento on March 14–15, 2026 with races designed for runners, walkers, and families alike. 

A Weekend Full of Running and Fun

The weekend kicks off on Saturday, March 14 with a lineup of distance options perfect for every kind of enthusiast:
• Kids’ Leprechaun Dash — a fun ½-mile run for little runners
• 5K and 10K races — great choices for beginners or those looking for a brisk, scenic run
• Wheelchair divisions in select distances to ensure inclusive competition

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, running for fun, or walking with friends, the race atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Participants enjoy live music on the course, post-race beer and food, commemorative medals, and great swag including technical shirts for finishers. 

Go for the Double Header

For those feeling ambitious, Shamrock’n Weekend offers the popular Double Header challenge — run either the 5K or 10K on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday to earn a special Double Header medal plus a commemorative technical shirt.
