Big Week for the Quails – Stadium Future + Brewfest Match Day vs San Antonio
It’s a huge week for Sacramento Republic FC fans — one that’s got us raising a pint in one hand and crossing fingers with the other.
Let’s start with Saturday, June 14, when the boys in Old Glory Red face off against San Antonio FC at Heart Health Park. Kickoff is at 8 PM, but the fun starts much earlier with the return of Brewfest, presented by Sky River Casino. This all-in-one soccer bash features:
- Tasting stations from top craft breweries
- Local food trucks and vendors
- Music, giveaways, and Republic FC’s unbeatable fan energy
It’s one of the biggest games of the season. San Antonio (5-2-4) is fighting to stay near the top of the Western Conference, while Sacramento (3-4-2) is looking to build momentum and climb the table. And while this might not be an official rivalry, let’s just say… there’s a bit of tension. These two teams bring out the best (and the fire) in each other.

Meanwhile: June 10 Could Change Everything
Just four days before the big game, on Tuesday, June 10, the Sacramento City Council will vote on a financing agreement that could finally kick off construction of Republic FC’s new stadium in the Railyards.
Here’s what’s on the table:
Location: Downtown Sacramento’s Railyards
Cost: $175 million (privately funded by Wilton Rancheria)
Capacity: 12,000 seats (Phase 1), expandable to 20,000 (Phase 2)
Timeline: Groundbreaking could begin summer 2025, with the stadium opening in early 2027
The stadium is just one piece of a larger 31-acre redevelopment plan that also includes:
- A hotel
- A concert venue inside the historic Paint Shop
- New housing and retail space
If approved, this project could give Sacramento the soccer home it deserves — a modern, urban venue that puts Republic FC right in the heart of the city.
Hallelujah – Time to Celebrate
June 10, 2025. Sacramento.
The Sacramento City Council unanimously approved the construction of a new 12,000-seat soccer stadium for Sacramento Republic FC in the downtown Railyards on June 10, 2025. The vote was 9-0. This decision allows the team to start construction in August with a target opening in spring 2027.The council passed two resolutions:
- Finalizing agreements: This covered the project, land purchase, and funding agreements needed for construction.
- Expanding the Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD): This will help fund infrastructure related to the project. The city’s contribution of over $90 million will come from future tax revenue generated by the stadium and surrounding areas.
Financially supported by Wilton Rancheria, the stadium project includes surrounding development like retail, housing, a market, a hotel, and a live music venue. This development is expected to help revitalize the Railyards area. The stadium will also host concerts, community events, and other activities.
So here’s your call to action:
📅 June 10 – Stay tuned for the vote that could shape Sacramento’s sports landscape.
📅 June 14 – Be there for Brewfest, Republic FC vs. San Antonio, and a whole lot of Quails pride.
