Old Town Auburn Ghost Tour

October 18 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm
$40

If your October plans need a little… afterlife, pencil in the Old Town Auburn Ghost Tour by Gold Country Ghost Tours on Saturday, October 18, 8:30–10:30 p.m. You’ll meet at the Historic Auburn Courthouse, 101 Maple St, Auburn, CA 95603, then follow your guide through 10 stops that blend verified history with bone-tingling lore.

This isn’t campfire fiction. The route draws on research from the Placer County Archives and the Placer County Docent Guild, so you’ll hear the real stories behind Auburn’s Gold Rush past—plus the whispers that refuse to stay quiet. Along the way you may encounter legends like Alma Bell, Rattlesnake Dick, and Big Dip—names that echo through saloons, storefronts, and still-haunted corners of one of California’s oldest gold towns.

What to expect
• Duration: ~2 hours (in person)
• Terrain: stairs, uneven ground, and some steep walking paths—this is the real deal, not a flat stroll
• Pace: steady walking with storytelling at each stop
• Capacity: 5 tickets per person per event; groups can request to be placed together during checkout

Plan ahead: Please arrive by 8:00 p.m. for check-in so groups can form; the tour leaves 8:30 sharp. Due to the terrain and historic buildings, the tour is not ADA accessible.

Whether you’re a history buff, a ghost-story skeptic, or a believer who sleeps with a nightlight, you’ll leave with Auburn in a whole new light—moonlight. Bring comfy shoes, a jacket, and a healthy respect for dark corners.
